Get connected
A FORTIFIED roof that earns a required insurance discount, year after year
We connect Louisiana homeowners with FORTIFIED-certified roofing contractors. The durable payoff is a mandated wind insurance discount and a state tax credit. The Fortify Homes grant may help pay for it too, up to $10,000 while funding lasts. No cost. No obligation.
Tell us about your roof
Tell us your parish and a few details about your roof. Your request comes straight to us by email, and we use it to connect you with a FORTIFIED-certified roofing contractor in your area who can quote the job. There is no cost and no obligation, and this is not the grant application.
A required wind insurance discount
Louisiana requires insurers to discount the wind portion of your premium for a FORTIFIED roof, 16 to 29 percent depending on your zone, with South Louisiana at the top. It follows the home, year after year.
A state tax credit
A state income tax credit can offset a large share of what a FORTIFIED roof costs, up to $10,000 per home. It is available whether or not you win a grant.
A grant, while funding lasts
The Fortify Homes grant can reimburse up to $10,000 of the construction cost. Awards are drawn by lottery and funding can run out, so treat it as a bonus, not the plan.
To check your address and the current application window, use the Louisiana Department of Insurance eligibility map. Read how we handle your details in our privacy policy.
One timing rule matters most: do not let anyone start roof work before you are selected and the bid process is finished, or you lose the grant. Once cleared, the work has to be done within 90 days.
