It is a cap on a reimbursement, not a flat check, and the money goes to your contractor after IBHS issues the certificate. Selection is a random lottery, so registering is not the same as being awarded.

Jefferson Parish adds up to $5,000 more
A Metairie address sits inside a parish fund that stacks on the state grant. The Roof Enhancement Lottery Incentive Fund, or R.E.L.I.F., adds up to $5,000 on top of the state's $10,000, so up to $15,000 toward the roof.
Two limits come with it. You have to win the state lottery first, since R.E.L.I.F. is gap funding for homeowners already selected, not a second path for those who were not. What it pays back, grant or no grant
The grant is a lottery. The other two payoffs are not. A FORTIFIED designation earns a required cut on the wind portion of your home insurance in Louisiana, every year the designation stays in force, and the state tax credit returns up to $10,000 of qualifying costs on a roof you finance yourself.
